A Philosophy Focused on Nature
Passionate about the environment, I chose to cultivate vines using organic farming. Planted on hillsides that are part of the collective memory, my vines have never known any synthetic pesticides. — Pascal Henriot
This committed vision has guided Pascal Henriot since 1985 and continues to inspire the estate today. In 2024, his daughter Orane and her husband Renaud took over, with the will to preserve this environmental requirement while bringing new energy. They continue sincere work, respectful of soils and faithful to the identity of Champlitte.
A Living Vineyard
Located on the heights of Champlitte, the vineyard extends over 7 hectares divided into three plots: les Folains, les Monts-Clairs and les Vergers-Carrels. At nearly 300 meters altitude, the vines rest on clay-limestone soil from ancient coral reefs, a terroir that gives freshness and finesse to the estate's wines.
The southeast-facing hillsides host a great diversity of grape varieties: Chardonnay, Auxerrois, Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir, Gamay and Gewurztraminer. Between the rows, associated crops of buckwheat and rye naturally enrich soil life and strengthen the vine's resilience.
The vineyard was built in stages: les Folains were planted in 1985 (3.5 ha), les Monts-Clairs in 1988 (1.5 ha), then les Vergers-Carrels in 2012 (2 ha). This evolution now allows each zone to be managed precisely according to exposure and ripeness.
Rooted at Champlitte's latitude (47.83053 N, 5.58501 E), the estate benefits from both Burgundian and Haute-Saone influences. Jurassic marls and limestones, combined with well-drained slopes, contribute to the balance between fruit, tension and terroir expression.
Biodiversity is omnipresent: wild orchids, wild tulip, varied hedges and dry stone walls compose a living ecosystem, where fauna and flora find refuge. This preserved environment is an integral part of the estate's identity.
Under organic farming, the estate uses only sulfur and copper in a reasoned protection approach. In recent years, the introduction of resistant grape varieties has made it possible to cultivate some parcels without treatment, further strengthening the vineyard's overall sustainability.
A Palette of Grape Varieties Between Burgundy and Alsace
The particularity of Champlitte's vineyard is to host grape varieties from two great traditions: Burgundy and Alsace. This combination allows great aromatic richness and a variety of styles.

Harvest: Tradition and Conviviality
A highlight of the year, the harvest is carried out entirely by hand, a tradition to which the estate remains deeply attached.
Beyond work, it's a moment of sharing, where know-how, exchanges and conviviality blend.
Grapes are picked into crates, carefully sorted, then processed separately according to each parcel and grape profile. This precision preserves fruit freshness, refines blends and best expresses each vintage's personality.
